You're not using this any more, right? Do you mind if I take it?
So just to recap, he has no pulse and is extremely cold, yet "appears to be alive".
.... Appears to be alive in what way?
In anime land, extreme grief induces catatonia. And super powers.
I just love that last line. "You fail the internets forever!"
It's Soldier Blue! And he's being sarcastic! Yay!
Episode Review
This is an awesome episode, plain and simple. It's the point where Jomy and Keith, the main characters, are in direct conflict for the first time, and due to how they've been developed you really want them both to succeed. Even though Keith is at his most evil here, I wanted to see Makka fly in and rescue him, although that might have been more due to Makka's dtermination to save him. Come to think of it, he was probably written into the manga as a way to restore some reader sympathy towards Keith.
The main star of this one is Jomy, though. Having decided to settle on Naska, he wtinesses the Mu he was closest to, Carina, dying. Carina was never a likeable character, but Jomy's scream of grief when she died was still impressive, as was his subsequent decision to man up and start doing whatever he needs to to protect the Mu, even if it means ordering Makka's ship to be shot down. I have a feeling a lot of Jomy's idealism will have been stripped away after this.
