Weekly Videogame News Roundup

I got a PS3

Didyou see this post? Well if not, I got a PS3.

Left 4 Dead 2 banned in Australia (insert kangaroo joke)

Now this is surprising- Left 4 Dead 2 has been denied classification in Australia. I always think of game bans as happening only to titles no one is interested in, but I guess not. Apparently the ratings board didn't like "high-impact" scenes of violence against the infected because they're living humans rather than zombies. I can't say I can see that much of an increase in violence over the first game, even with the melee weapons and disfigurment.

Wii Price cut on the way, apparently

Is it just me or are the Big Three console makers incapable of keeping secrets these days? You used to always be able to count on Nintendo to keep their cards close to their chest, but apparently not any more:

This despite Iwata's recent flat-out denial of a price cut. It makes sense for them to do this- the Wii's low price has always been a major asset, but it's rapidly losing that advantage as Microsoft and Sony cut prices. I can easily imagine people deciding to spend the extra $50 on a PS3 Slim, whereas a $100 price difference is another story all together.

New Silent Hill: Shattered Memories screens

Here.

One of them has a bear in it.
